Wally Jones - 2010

The teams first full time coach.  He lead the team during the 1991 season where team competed for a playoff spot, set a record for wins and saw the team win its first of three Stewart Memorial Tournament Championship.

Joe Doherty - 2010

Joe is the only player in team history to hit a home run in their very first at bat.  Joe went on to be one of the most dependable pitchers on the team during his five years( 1990-1994 ) with the team.

RETIRED 9/25/2010 - One of the few players in YBL history who could earn induction into the leagues Hall of Fame as either a player or coach, the Somerville Alibrandnis Baseball Team retired Mike's #29 upon the announcement of his retirement.  Mike was the winning pitcher in the teams first game in 1990 and was a multiple All Star as a player.  As the teams coach he hold the record for winning 10 YBL Championships.    image

The BoSox Club Honors the 2010 YBL Champions

The BoSox Club, the Official Boster Club of the Boston Red Sox, honored the 2011 Yawkey Baseball League Champions Somerville Alibrandis Baseball Club at its annual Awards Luncheon, this past  September 22nd at the Newton Boston Marriott.  The BoSox Luncheon is an annual event that the BoSox Club runs to honor all the Champions from all of the area amatuer local baseball leagues as well as Little League, American Legion, High School and College teams from the state.  This was the 11th time that the Somerville Alibrandis Baseball Team have been invited to attend this very speical event.  Team President David Treska, Sponsor Tony Alibrandi, Manager Rob McDonough, Mike Powers, Marc DesRoches, Matt Deeb, Ted Dzubia, Anthony Tomaro and Tom McDough were in attendance for the event and were presented with the Championship Trophy.  image

Regular Season 25-7-1 ( 5th Seed )

Playoffs: 10-3( YBL Champions )

First year field manager Rob McDonough took a team with 14 new players back to the playoffs and pulled of 3 upsets in the postseason to lead the team to the 2010 YBL Championship, the teams 11th title in 21 seaons.
